We are thrilled to announce our in-person end-of-year exhibition, Maximum Exposure 28 entitled Perennials featuring over 100 emerging artists and storytellers from the Photography, Integrated Digital, and Film programs as well as the Third Year Show titled Intertwined. We are also excited to announce the launch party of Function Magazines 24th issue, Looking in, Looking Out held on the first floor of the building.

Opening night will take place on Friday April 28th from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., including an award ceremony at 8 p.m. in room 307. Maximum Exposure’s opening celebration will take place alongside the launch of the 2023 Scotiabank CONTACT Festival at The Image Centre. Together, this is an amazing opportunity to celebrate established artists, along with the next generation of image makers.

Maximum Exposure takes place at the School of Image Arts located at 122 BOND ST, TORONTO, ON, M5B 1Y2 CANADA. Our main entrance is found on the East side of the building. 

The nearest subway station is Dundas, located in Dundas Square.

Land Acknowledgment

It is important to understand the longstanding history that has brought us to reside on this land known as Tkaronto and understand our place within its history. 

This land we reside on carries with it imprints of its past. We as the students of Toronto Metropolitan university acknowledge this past and stand in solidarity with indigenous peoples and the deep wounds they carry. The present and future stewardship of this land, we hope will be one of equal opportunity, equal bounty and respect. 

Tkaronto is in the dish with one spoon territory. The dish with one spoon territory is a treaty between the anishinaabe, mississaugas and haudenosaunee that bound them to share the territory and protect the land. Subsequent indigenous nations and peoples. Europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect.

As we work to heal our communities, in shared responsibility, we encourage our viewers to donate to and support grassroots indigenous organizations to continue this advocacy.
