These images are my entrance into body art, a tool I’ve begun to use to combat the different types of negative gazes I have experienced in my life. The typical gaze of religious figures, traditional male gaze, and colourism are used as a method of questioning the necessity of gaze.
When viewing, please ask yourself: “What am I looking for?” and “Why must I accept this is not for or about me?”
