Alyssa Mackenzie

Home is a Foreign Place is a project based on finding a sense of home in Toronto. The word ‘home’ has multiple meanings, but to me, it’s where I feel the safest. Since moving to the High Park area, it has become a place where I find solitude and comfort. I focused my thesis on shooting at High Park. I explore how I can connect to the land and find a sense of home by using landscape images and emerging myself into the land.

Alyssa Mackenzie is a Toronto-based photographer. She is currently completing her BA in Photography at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is hoping to pursue a career in Marketing.  Her work mainly consists of landscape photography. There is a consistent theme of finding a sense of home or home in her works.
