In my series titled A Man Named Kyle, I explore how to capture the essence of a person given the context of only a name. The drive for this series came from some of my previous works where I took certain relationships between myself, friends, family and people of a close connection alike as the forefront of the work. For this series however, I found it important to remove that connection and simply focus on the relationship between photographer and subject. In the series you will find Kyle doing activities that I have documented throughout his day to day life in his home and him interacting with spaces in the city. Within the context of these scenes and activities Kyle is going through, it is my intention to have the viewer build their own “Kyle” in their head from what little information they are given.
