It's Just Hair
Connor Leck
The photographic series It’s Just Hair deals with the representation of body image and
body hair and our personal relations with it. The images feature close-up shots of various body parts that highlight body hair, raising the question of why we have built the stereotypes around the body hair we and others have. This idea came to light through discussions about body hair and the stigmas I and others have experienced around it. Through representing these personal relationships androgynously with a mix of various gender and racial identities to challenge these notions, It’s Just Hair aims to summarize itself both visually and thematically with its name.
