Loneliness is a pervasive feeling that can affect individuals of all ages and backgrounds. It is often associated with adverse mental health outcomes such as depression and anxiety. In recent years, the prevalence of loneliness has increased, particularly among young adults and older adults. This thesis will explore the relationship between loneliness and birthday celebrations. We will examine how birthdays, which are typically seen as joyful occasions, can also be a source of loneliness for some individuals. Birthdays are my favourite time of the year, but I spend most of them alone. As such, I want to create a series of images emphasizing the loneliness of birthdays.
