My project is a fashion series that bends the ‘rules’ of gendered clothing e.g. websites having ‘women’ & ‘men’ tabs, but no tab for people who perhaps don’t identify as either or those. This project is about people wearing clothes that they feel expresses their true self, regardless of if society would label them being for men or women.
I am using a range of models of all sex and gender identities, and outfits to show that anyone can wear any outfit they want to create great fashion looks, and also the use of makeup to further the motion of fashion being genderless and free for all to embrace. This is becoming more prevalent in companies’ campaigns, however more inclusiveness is still needed to keep up with society’s ever-growing diverse community. Working closely with each model and my stylist, we have created looks that the models feel expresses something about them and show off their identity.
